Protection of Atmosphere Air

Research materials of air pollution's level in Samara, made by Privolzhskiy center, indicate that it is rather stable with increasing tendency.

Concentration of sulphur's oxide, phenol, fluorinous and chlorous hydrogen is getting lower. After the usage of ethyl petrol have been prohibited, the substance of lead in snow cover in Samara has got lower in 2-3 times. Improvement of atmosphere seems quite real because of realization some nature projects, held on Samara's factories. It helps to reduce the sewage of chemicals in atmosphere. To decrease the air pollution on the Volga embankment, the traffic along Gorky's Street is being more thoroughly controlled.

The project "Clean City", organized by Samara's administration, regularly arranges special controls on the service stations in all regions of Samara. According to this project 7933 litter boxes, 456 containers were placed and 177 restrooms were repaired in 1999. 78 illegal trash dumps were closed and 221,000 sewage were taken away.

The projects on air protection are being worked out and every day.
